Bruins Cut Leafs Apart
Boston regained the series lead in Game 3 of their series against the Toronto Maple Leafs last night as they sliced through them with a 5-2 victory at the Air Canada Center which spoiled the Toronto's first home playoff game in over nine years.
Adam McQuaid put the Bruins in front midway through the first period off an assist from Lucic and Ryan Peverley extended their advantage further early in the second. Jake Gardiner gave the Leafs a glimmer of hope midway through the same period before goals from Nathan Horton and Daniel Paille increased the Bruins lead to 4-1.
Once again Phil Kessel scored against his former team and gave the leafs a goal 47 seconds in the third peiod to cut back the margain to 4-2 and perhaps give them some much needed momentum. But with less than two minutes left the leafs chose to pull goalie James Reimer and David Krejci slotted into the empty net!
After losing game two at home in the TD Garden, Boston has once again regain a crucial advantage which may just swing this series in their favour!
