Sedin Brothers Sign New 4 Year Deals

Good news for Vancouver Canucks fans as Henrik and Daniel Sedin have sign new 4 year deals worth $28 million each!

The twin brothers were in the final year of the 5 year deals which were due to expire in 2014 and could have meant them entering into free agency if terms couldnt be agreed. Since being drafted 2nd and 3rd overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the pair have become a key part of the franchise and their free scoring ways contributed to the Canucks making the playoffs 11 times in as many years and it is great news to hear that they will official cement their place in Canucks history with this new deal!

Upon announcing their new extension, GM Mike Gillis was quoted saying,
"Few players in the history of this club have had more significant roles in contributing to the success of this team and to our community and we look forward to many more years with their positive influence leading the way."

Thanks for brightning this grey Friday Henrik and Daniel- officially now Forever Canucks!
